Yes, a Dudero stood on the Great Wall

I am sorry I did not manage to get a photo of my mom on the Great Wall and I forgot to mention that she did make it up there with us. (I do have some video to prove she did it!) We were all thankful we avoided countless steps by riding a cable car to the top of the Badaling section of the Wall (see http://www.travelchinaguide.com/china_great_wall/scene/beijing/badaling.htm for more info). You can see the cable cars in one of the pictures. Still, there were many steep and uneven steps to conquer, and with no handrail most of the time. But Mom did very well, and enjoyed the marvelous view with us up there. Her legs were tired though, and she was glad to put them up and rest when we got back. I don't know why I thought there would be a chance to contemplate and feel serene on top of the Wall -- there was quite a hustle bustle of crowds, which you can see in the pictures. I did wonder how many graves we were walking over, since I had heard many of the wall builders were buried in the Wall.

I continue to relay the stories daily to Grandma E. I describe the pictures as well and she says "It's just like being there." She's a good fibber, but it has been a new experience for us both, as (at 90) she is clueless as to what a "blog" is! It was nice to get an update on Ann as well; tell her that her mother said "Take it easy!" Keep the great pics and scripts going! You're doing great!
